About us

Michael Powell Founded Otherside Studios in 2019 as BFS Productions alongside best friend Justus Davies and collaboratively wrote the first comic book series of Otherside Studios called The Night Hood. Michael then went on to work with talented artists and animators to work on 2 volumes of comic book story filled with emotion and action in the process of bringing the written story to life.

Michael and Justus early on from 2019 to 2020 tried making movies in the video game Grand Theft Auto 5 under the name BFS Productions with its creative Rockstar Editor but it never worked because of lack of people needed to play the roles of characters created by Justus and Michael so starting in 2022 Michael spent 2 years trying different things before in 2024 he decided to make comic books because of his fascination in the manga and anime One Piece originally introduced to him by Justus in late 2023 when Michael started working on illustrations for his already partially written story in 2024 he changed the name of BFS Productions to Otherside Studios this was the start of The Night Hood project at the time only having enough story for 1 volume of comic book content. after the official release of volume 1 in October of 2024 Michael began writing story for Volume 2 and began work on an Live Action Adaptation in September 2025 at very early unsure phases
